We Can Do It!
The most iconic image to emerge from a World War II campaign to recruit women into the workforce is Rosie the Riveter. The strong, beautiful, bandana-clad factory worker would become the face of female wartime propaganda. We Can Do It features music from the World War II era, including hits like In the Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and Sing, Sing, Sing, performed by the great musicians of the United States military, including The United States Air Force Airmen of Note, formed to carry on the tradition of Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps dance band. As a special addition in the liner notes, Rosebud Janet Wallace, tells the story of her grandmother, Joy Hagan, "the fastest riveter in the plant." Join us in honoring the women of World War II!
