Remember the Glory of the Russians: Front Songs of the Imperial Army
Here are fourteen songs that were sung by Russian soldiers in the mid-to-late 1800s. Enjoy listening to the old Russian tradition of military singing along with church regents. Performed by the Male choir of the Valaam Institute of Choral Arts, conducted by Igor Ushakov, they sing in the old military style: first the lead vocal sings the verse, then the choir answers. Tracks include My Friends, Dashing Apsheronians!, Brothers Chasseurs!, A Brave General, and Hooray, Turkestanians! This import CD contains an eight-page booklet with photographs and additional information in Russian and English languages.
