Ports of Paradise
This classic recording is now available again! During the 1950s all who stepped foot on the magical islands of Tahiti, New Zealand, Samoa, and Hawaii fell in love with the romance and splendor of these magnificent locales. Among these visitors were composers Alfred Newman and Ken Darby, who produced this 1960 Capitol release, mixing lush orchestration, exotic percussion and the Ken Darby singers. They called the release, “a culmination and most definitive expression of the enchantment which we have found in the moods, the repose, the mystery of those far-off places.” The 11 tracks on this album will not disappoint!
