Canadian Bagpipes and American Brass
As long as men have marched to war, they have used music to stir courage, cheer the march, and entertain. In Scotland, bagpipes rallied clans for centuries, a tradition embodied in their music and modes of dress. In American, a booming brass band not only identifies our fighting forces, but also is also associated with our entire way of life. Canadian Bagpipes, American Brass is a fusion of The Canadian Scottish Regiment, with its deep ties to the traditions of Scotland, combined with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band and its bold American approach, creates an entire album of classic military music. Tracks like Amazing Grace, Scotland the Brave, O Canada, and The Star Spangled Banner stand as pillars both of this disc and of military music as a whole.
