String of Pearls
String of Pearls, featuring The United States Air Force Band of the Rockies' Falconaires, honors one of America's greatest icons, Major Glenn Miller and his Army Air Force Orchestra. In the 1930's and 1940's, the Miller Band was the undisputed king of popular music. Then came Pearl Harbor, and like so many others, Glenn Miller interrupted his career, donned a military uniform, and lent his support to the war effort. A commemoration to this great man and his music, String of Pearls contains many fantastic songs including Indian Summer, When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, and In the Mood. Each piece is beautifully played by The Falconaires, a group known as one of America's most exciting jazz ensembles. The sounds of Major Glenn Miller and his incredible Army Air Corps Orchestra inspired a generation of Americans to steadfastly fight for freedom, to joyously celebrate all that is America, and to remarkably and indelibly change the world for the better.
